Awarding Agency: Sound Transit
Subcontractor to: Harris Rebar

The link light rail currently runs from Tukwila to the University of Washington and is being expanded to

Lynnwood. The Lynnwood L200 project is located in Northgate, Seattle and Sunset Company LLC is

responsible for placing rebar for the 185 th ST bridge. Work includes rebar for 80’ shafts, walls, and slab

deck. Also, Sunset Company welds the spirals for the shafts.

Seattle Multimodal Terminal at Colman Dock

Subcontractor to: Harris Rebar

Sunset Company was hired to work on the retrofit and addition for the Colman Dock ferry terminal. The contract amount was 1.5 million. The ferry terminal needed to be expanded to accommodate commuters coming to and from Seattle from Bremerton and Bainbridge Island.

 

Working withcontractors such as Harris Rebar, Pacific Pile & Marine, and Hoffman Construction, Sunset Company installed rebar for the terminal dock. Work included rebar piles, shafts, beam caps, and slabs.

 

Additionally, Sunset Company welded the angles to connect the concrete panels, the rings for the shafts and the spirals for the piles.

Lynnwood Extension L300

Although connected to the L200 project, the Lynnwood Extension L300 contract involves the

construction of the station for the Lynnwood exit. Sunset Company’s role is to place rebar for the

elevators, stairs, gateways, and slab floors. The rail and station are elevated at this section of the light

rail; therefore, our workers installed rebar from scaffolding and utilized come along tools.

SR Keller Ferry Terminal & Pontoon Replacement

Subcontractor to: IMCO General Construction Inc

SR Keller Ferry is a small ferry on the Columbia River that transports cars and passengers between State

Route 21 and the Lincoln and Ferry Counties. The goal of this project was to remove the pontoons and

install new ones. Sunset Company oversaw and completed the removal of the pontoons using the

process of arc cutting welding. Additionally, Sunset Company installed structural steel winches, which is

used to pull the ferry. The winches were welded in place. Other welding included welding of rails and

dolphin structures.
